CAMBADOS

Talk about Casa A Pastora is talk about the town of Cambados, a charming village full of history that all guest should visit.

Facing Casa A Pastora is “Monte da Pastora”, -which our house took the name from- with its cross-crowned lookout dominating the town, from where you can get a magnificent view of “Ria de Arousa”.

On its side, the ruins of Santa Mariña, the remains of a Renaissance temple with its slender arches and chapels.

On its left, and less than 100 meters from Casa A Pastora, there is something that should not be missing in this privileged vineyard zone: the Wine Museum, a pleasant visit to one of the symbols of “Las Rias Baixas”

Going down the town center you can see the late 15-century “Pazo de Ulloa”, and a bit farther, Cambados’ parochial church, a former Renaissance-Neoclassical styled Franciscan monastery.

Then, sooner or later, you can not miss either “Plaza de Fefiñans”, with its L-shaped two-volumed “pazo”, topped with peculiar circular balconies.

The Palace of Fefiñans, within walking distance from Casa A Pastora, is linked to a small park by an arch, and forms, together with the church of San Benito and its two symmetric towers, a peculiar complex standing out as one of the most characteristic places in Cambados.

The other town symbol is the “Torre de San Sadurniño”, which in our virtual promenade will be reached through the “Paseo Maritimo de Santo Tomé”. The tower, presently in ruins, had served since the 13th as a custodian of the Galician coast. Today it watches over the visitors in the surrounding beaches.

From there you can have a pleasant visit to the isle of A Toxa, with its famous spa resort.

There are many other interesting places in Cambados. We invite you to discover them all from Casa A Pastora.
